It is with deep regret I announce that Bob Lawrence, former WGBB Pogram Director and Station Manager from 1965-1980, as well as one of the former play-by-play voices of the NY Islanders during their Stanley Cup Days, passed away this afternoon around 1:3opm after a brave battle against lung cancer.Bob had recently attended the WGBB reunion and had one last chance to spend some quality time with many of his radio companions. We will all miss him. Our condolences to his wife Rebecca and family. I will post funeral arrangements when they are known.
