Tavares debut(?) to be televised!

Forever1940 has learned.... (ok I read it on PuckTheMedia)... that Islander fans should get an opportunity to see John Tavares' first game as a professional.

The NHL Network-US will pick up CBC's coverage of the Kraft Hockeyville game between the Islanders and Canucks.
Sept. 14  10:30 Islanders vs. Canucks

(Folks in Canada will see the game on CBC, obviously.)  The game will re-air at 3pm the following afternoon.

During the regular season, NHL Network coverage is usually blacked out in local markets, but I can't imagine this happening for a pre-season game.  The game will be opposite the 2nd-half of the opening Monday-night NFL doubleheader on ESPN  (San Diego-Oakland).

Forever1940 is the nom de plume of Eric Hornick, statistician on Islander home telecasts since 1982.
