PETERBOROUGH -- It wasn't the return Calvin de Haan or the Oshawa Generals likely had in mind.

The star defenceman, who was just returned to the Generals earlier this week from the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, left Thursday night's 5-4 loss to the Peterborough Petes with an apparent upper body injury.

Not long after the opening faceoff of the second period de Haan he went into the corner and attempted to lay the body on Peterborough captain Zack Kassian before falling awkwardly into the boards.

Adding insult to injury, as de Haan struggled to regain his feet, Kassian scored a goal.

de Haan then skated off the ice and went straight to the Oshawa dressing room.
