Nabokov to Make Islander Debut

The Isles have named Evgeni Nabakov to face the Rangers tonight at the Coliseum... only the 3rd time in 4 games Jack Capuano has surprised me with his goaltending choice.

Al Montoya has played the first three games for the Isles, but with the team off until Thursday (and in the midst of playing only 2 games in nine days), Nabokov gets his first shot as an Islander tonight.

Nabakov is 4-3-0 in his career against the Rangers with a 2.42 GAA and a 917 save percentage.

Nabakov will be looking for his 294th career win, which would tie Mike Liut for 27th all-time.  Henrik Lundqvist is expected in nets for the Rangers.  The King has 213 wins, giving the goalies facing each other tonight 506 career wins.

All of Nabokov's 293 wins and all 50 of his shutouts have come with San Jose.  He'll look to change both of those stats tonight.

Career wins - active
1. Brodeur 625
2 Khabibulin 316
3. Luongo 308
4 Nabakov 293

Career shutouts -active
1. Brodeur 116
2. Luongo  55
3. Nabokov 50
