Matt Read

Flyer rookie Matt Read leads all rookies with 9 goals, and has compiled some impressive numbers, including goals in 5 straight games.

If he scores tonight, he'll become the 2nd player to score in 6 straight games this season: Patric Hornquist did it for Nashville

Three NHL players (including a familiar rookie) had 6 game streaks last year.

GM PLAYER           TEAM             FROM TO        G
6 Michael Grabner* NY Islanders Feb. 5 Feb. 15 10
6 Dan Cleary           Detroit           Nov. 5 Nov. 17  8
6 Jamie Benn          Dallas           Mar. 1 Mar. 11   6

Flyers PR notes that Read's streak is already the longest by a Flyers rookie since 1994.  Mikael Renberg had a  6-game streak that season.

The last NHLer to score in 7 straight was Steven Stamkos (2009-10).
Alex Ovechkin was the last rookie to have a 7-game streak (2005-06).
