Nilsson looks to continue trend

Anders Nilsson will become the 6th goaltender in just over 11 months to make his first start for the Islanders when he faces Pittsburgh (and Sidney Crosby tonight.

Isles have fared well with the other 5, going 3-1-1 with Mikko Koskinen (who was pressed into emergency duty after Kevin Poulin was injured in warmups) suffering the only regulation defeat.

Nathan Lawson 12/18/10  - OT Loss at Phoenix
Kevin Poulin 1/8/11 - OT win at Colorado
Mikko Koskinen 2/8/11 - Loss vs Toronto

Al Montoya 2/19/11 -  Shutout win over Los Angeles
Evgeni Nabokov 10/15/11 - Win vs Rangers

Nilsson is the third of the six to make a relief appearance (or in Montoya's case, two) before starting a game for the Isles.  Kevin Poulin replaced Lawson on January 3rd and Montoya replaced Koskinen on 2/13 and Lawson on 2/17.
