5th game in 7 days -- a rare challenge

The Isles will be back on Coliseum ice Sunday for their 5th game in the last seven days.  While it has happened a number of times in the past, including two overlapping stretches in 1972-73 and 1992-93, it will be the first time since January 2011.

The Isles opponent on Sunday is, as it was in 2011, Carolina.

In the Post-Cup era, the Isles are 1-12-1 when playing a 5th game in seven nights.  The only victory in that span came in the final night of the 1992-93 regular season: an 8-4 win over New Jersey.  Since then, the Isles are 0-8-0 in this situation; six of the eight losses have been by two goal or fewer.

This is the only time this season that the Isles are playing 5 games in 7 days.
