I hope Yashin forgives me (Correction to The Skinny)

With help from Elias this morning:

The Isles scored 8 goals in a game for the first time since the 9-3 "Fight Night" win over the Penguins on February 11, 2011.  The Isles recorded a victory by 7+ goals for the first time since defeating Chicago 9-2 at the United Center on March 25, 2003 and for the first time at home since defeating Edmonton 8-1 on January 22, 1997.

Two other Elias gems:
Okposo and Brock Nelson are the third pair of American-born Islanders with hat tricks in the same season:
Pat LaFontaine and Randy Wood in 1989-90
Jason Blake and Mark Parrish in 2002-03

The home team has won the last 12 Isles-Oilers game, matching the longest current such streak in the NHL  (also Toronto/Buffalo).
==>The last road win came on March 13, 2003 when the Isles won 5-2 in Edmonton.  Garth Snow picked up the win in the Isles' second game after trading away Chris Osgood and recalling Rick DiPietro.
