Richard Panik broke a 4-4 tie with 6:13 to play as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Isles 5-4 before a crowd of 12,504 at Barclays Center.
 
The Isles had taken a 2-0 lead just 3:48 into play; it was the earliest 2 goals the Isles had ever scored at Barclays; by period's end the six goals (three for each team) had produced the highest scoring first period in the venue.
 
The Isles have lost three straight, all in regulation, for the first time this season.  All three games were tied after two periods, but the Isles have been outscored 7-0 in the third period.

The Skinny:
The Isles scored the first goal for the 9th time in the last 10 games … The Isles defense contributed two assists, raising the season total to 19-42-61… Ryan Strome broke a 20-game goalless streak; Anders Lee scored for 8th time in 12 games to tie John Tavares for the team lead with 9 goals …The Isles have won only 4 of 13 games tied after two periods (4-6-3)…The Isles allowed three power play goals for the first time this season; it was also the first time that Chicago had scored three power play goals in a game this season; Chicago had entered the game with only 5 power play goals on the road this season…This was only the 2nd regulation loss for the Isles in Barclays Center history (18-2-3)… The Isles have allowed five power play goals over the last two games (and have allowed six goals in their last 10 times short) … Marian Hossa scored his 515th career goal, tying former Islander Pierre Turgeon for 37th place on the all-time list…Cal Clutterbuck played his 600th NHL game…John Tavares assisted on Lee's goal; he has points in six of the last seven games.  Each team had 11 players record at least one point... The Hawks lead the NHL in one-goal wins (13-4-4) while the Isles are 5-5-5.

John Tavares recorded his 494th' point and now needs just six points to become the 10th player in Islander history with 500 career points.

Season Series Stats
Chicago leads the season series one game to none (and two points to zero).  The teams will play again on March 3rd in Chicago.
The Hawks are 2-0-0 all-time at Barclays Center, winning the building's opening game in overtime last season. Overall, the Isles are 2-5-3 in their last 10 games against Chicago, with the Hawks earning points in 9 out of 10 (8-1-1).
 
On The Farm
The Sound Tigers are 16-9-0-0, coming off an 8-6 defeat in Lehigh Valley on Wednesday. Rookie Devon Toews had a goal and two assists as six different Sound Tigers scored in defeat. 
 
Bracken Kearns continues to lead Bridgeport in scoring (8-12-20), while Steve Bernier leads the team in goals with nine.  Toews leads the team with 14 assists and is second on the team in points (4-14-18); fellow rookie Eamon McAdam remains perfect in goal in 7 decisions (7-0-0) although McAdam allowed four first period goals on Wednesday.
 
Toews is tied for the AHL rookie lead with those 14 assists, and is tied for the AHL rookie defenseman lead with 18 points.
 
The Sound Tigers will visit Providence on Friday before returning home to face Syracuse on Saturday.

The Isles will face Kyle Okposo for the first time as they head to Buffalo to face the Sabres on Friday.  The Isles are 4-0-2 in their last six trips to Buffalo, although three of the six games have been decided in shootouts.
 
It's the first of three meetings this season with the Sabres, who will visit Barclays on December 23rd.
