Anthony Beauvillier scored twice in the first 6:16 and both Brock Nelson and Josh Bailey had three assists as the Isles built a 5-1 lead and defeated the Washington Capitals 5-3  before a sellout crowd of 18,573 at Capital One Arena. 

The Isles kept Alex Ovechkin at 698 goals as "The Great 8" was on-ice for all five Islander goals; he finished -4. 

The Isles improve to 32-16-6; their 70 points matches last year's Islander team for the 2nd-highest total of points thru 54 games in the Post-Cup era (71 in 2014-15).

The Isles are 4-1-2 in their last seven games…Anthony Beauvillier is 7-6-13 in the last ten games as he extended his point streak to six games (5-3-8) and matched his career high with 36 points (17-19-36)… Josh Bailey assisted on all three first period goals; it's the first time in his career he has assisted on three goals in a period…Brock Nelson had three assists for the first time in his career.. Evgeny Kuznetsov suffered an upper body injury midway through the second period; he did not return.

First Times in a Long Time

• Josh Bailey is the first Islander with three assists in the first period since Mariusz Czerkawski (1-30-2002 at MSG)

• Devon Toews is the first Islander defenseman with three goals in a season against the Caps since Doug Crossman did so in 1989-90 (7 games).  Denis Potvin (6 goals in 1978-79, 3 goals in 1981-82) is the only other Isles D-man with at least three goals in a season vs. Washington.

• The Isles scored 4, 4, and 5 goals in the final three games of the season series.  It's the first time since 1989-90 that the Isles have scored at least four goals in three straight games vs. the Caps.

• The Isles scored 5 goals against the Caps for the first time since March 9, 2013; they did it in DC for the first time since October 18, 2007.

Season Series Stats

The Isles conclude the back-to-back as they host the Flyers in a nationally televised game; Brendan Burke and Brian Boucher will have the call on NBCSN.

It's the third meeting of the teams this season; the Isles defeat Philly 5-3 at the Coliseum in late October (for their 7th straight win) and then rallied from a 3-0 deficit with just over 12 minutes to play for a 4-3 shootout win in Philadelphia on November 16th (extending their point streak to 14 games).

The Isles are 7-3-0 in their last 10 games against the Flyers, including three OT/SO wins.

This is the Flyers' first game at Barclays Center since April 3, 2018; overall, the Isles are 3-2-2 in seven games between the teams in Brooklyn.

Brayden Point broke a scoreless tie just 14 seconds into the second period and later assisted on an empty net goal as the Tampa Bay Lightning snapped the Isles' five-game point streak with a 3-1 victory over the Islanders before a sellout crowd of 19,092 at AMALIE Arena. 

Derick Brassard converted on the Isles' only power play, with 7:48 to play to cut Tampa Bay's lead to 2-1  but the Isles would not manage another shot on goal until the game's final seconds.

The Isles fall to 31-16-6; their 68 points matches last year's Islander team for the 2nd-highest total of points thru 53 games in the Post-Cup era (69 in 2014-15).

What a night for Kieffer Bellows!  The Islander rookie, who was playing his 2nd NHL game, scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Isles rallied from 2-0 and 3-1 deficits for a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings before 11,108 at Barclays Center. 

Michael Dal Colle and Matt Martin also scored for the Isles, who got all their goals from the "bottom six" forwards until Anders Lee hustled his way into an empty-net goal. 

The Isles are 6-0-3 this season in Brooklyn as they extended their regular season point streak in Brooklyn to fourteen games.

The Isles are 3-0-2 in their last five games; it's their longest point streak since their 17-game streak in October/November.

The Isles improve to 31-15-6 as they go 16 games over NHL-.500 for the first time this season; their 68 points is the most any Islander team has had thru 52 games in the Post-Cup era.

Kieffer Bellows became the first Islander since Anders Lee to record points in his first two NHL games. Lee later added his 169th goal as an Islander, breaking a tie with Ziggy Palffy for 13th place on the team's all-time list.

The Isles begin a two-game road trip as they look to sweep the season series from  the reigning President's Trophy Champion Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday Night. 

The Isles defeated Tampa 5-2 at the Coliseum on November 1st and then beat the Lightning 5-1 at AMALIE Arena on December 9th.

The Isles haven't won two games in Tampa in a season since 2010-11 and haven't beaten the Lightning three times in a season since 2013.

Anthony Beauvillier scored two goals, 61:22 apart, as the Isles rallied for a 4-3 overtime victory over the Dallas Stars before 10,128 at Barclays Center. 

Beauvillier had opened the scoring 90 seconds into play and then completed matters with his second overtime goal of the season to give the Isles their franchise-record 8th overtime win of the season.  

Mathew Barzal had tied the game with 3:59 to play on the Isles' fifth power play (and 13th power play shot).  The Isles are 5-0-3 this season in Brooklyn as they extended their regular season point streak in Brooklyn to thirteen games.

The Isles are 2-0-2 in their last four games; it's their longest point streak since their 17-game streak in October/November.

Quinn Hughes scored his first career overtime goal 48 seconds into overtime as the Vancouver Canucks overcame an Isles comeback to defeat the Isles 4-3 before 14,862 at Barclays Center. 

Brock Nelson had scored with 25.9 seconds to play to force the extra session as the Isles extended their regular season point streak in Brooklyn to twelve games.
