Tavares named 2nd Star of the Week

Pekka Rinne was the 1st Star and Teemu (600th goal) Selanne was third.

The NHL release notes that Tavares is the 4th first player selected with the first overall draft pick to record five points in a game in his rookie season. The others all did okay with their careers:

Dale Hawerchuk (Winnipeg, 1981-82),
Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh, 1984-85) and
Ilya
Kovalchuk (Atlanta, 2001-02).

No rookie had recorded a five point game since Philadelphia's Alexandre Picard notched
five assists against New Jersey on Feb. 1, 2007.
