Extra Skinny Points

More on Doan's Hat:

Shane Doan had recorded 38 2-goal games without scoring a hat trick.  That matched the NHL record of Petr Sykora, who also had 38 before he completed a hat trick against the Isles in 2008.

Doan is the first Coyote to ever have a hat trick against the Isles.  Two (original) Jets did it: Alex Zhamnov and Dale Hawerchuk.  The Isles have never had a hat trick against the Coyotes; Bossy-Tonelli-Wood and Palffy all did it against the Jets.

Brad Richards is now the active NHL player with the most career goals without a hat trick: 235.  (Thanks scoreticker)
