Re: Mr. Marginal is Marginal -- he doesn't make the list

While THN is leaking the list day-by-day, they have apparently already published the magazine.

You can review a copy here: http://ca.zinio.com/reader.jsp?issn=0018-3016C&o=ext

Tavares actually does not make the Top 50.  He's listed as a "high-profile" snub, along with players like Jonathan Quick, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler, Logan Couture and Martin Brodeur.

Top 5: Crosby-Datsyuk-Giroux-Stamkos-Toews
2nd 5: Malkin-Lidstrom-Ovechkin-D.Sedin-Chara
11-15: H Sedin-Weber-Lundqvist-Thomas-St. Louis
16-20: Kessel-Rinne-Jagr-Perry-Zetterberg

The Hockey News is currently running a countdown of top 50 players in the NHL, as voted by the players.

No Islander has been named 31-50, which means that John Tavares should be named in the Top 30.  The list so far:
http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/45156-THNs-Top-50-NHLers-as-voted-by-the-players-3531.html

Tavares was selected 29th in an ESPN list (by John Buccigross) earlier this year.  Of course that came just a week or so after another ESPN'er (Neil Greenberg) failed to include Tavares on the "Top 25 under 25" list, causing Howie to refer to the Islander star as  "The marginally talented Mr. Tavares".

Matt Moulson was selected 49th in the Buccigross list but is not included in the #31-50 listing from the players, who apparently haven't heard that only four NHL players have scored at least 28 goals in each of the last three seasons, including this one: Phil Kessel, Steven Stamkos, Daniel Sedin ... and Matt Moulson.
