Tavares at 300 (games)

John Tavares already has the 2nd longest point streak of his career (7) -- if he gets a point tonight he will tie for the longest streak so far this season (thanks to JS Giguere blanking Crosby last night)

Longest Point Streaks, NHL 2013-14
8  Crosby, Sidney  PITTSBURGH Oct 3, 2013 Oct 19, 2013  7-10-17
8  Marleau, Patrick SAN JOSE Oct 3, 2013 Oct 19, 2013 7-4-11
** 8 Hudler, Jiri CALGARY Oct 3, 2013 Oct 21, 2013 4-7-11
** 7 Tavares, John NY ISLANDERS Oct 5, 2013 Oct 19, 2013 4-6-10

(Hudler's streak is also current -- Calgary plays in Phoenix tonight)

Tonight is also Tavares' 300th NHL game.  Based on the first 299, who knows what the next 100 might bring?:
  • Games 1-100       32-34-66
  • Games 101-200   34-57-91
  • Games 201-299   50-52-102 (game 300 tonight)
Tavares will also play in his 216th consecutive game tonight -- the 5th longest streak in the Post-Cup era:

Longest Consecutive Game Streaks, Post Cup Era
  1.         Matt Moulson 10/3/2009- 4/4/2013  284
  2.         Richard Park 10/5/2006 – 2/18/2009 221
  3.         Bryan McCabe 10/7/1995-2/4/1998 220
  4.         Bryan Trottier 3/7/1981- 1/12/1984 219
  5.         John Tavares 10/16/10 – CURRENT  215  (game 216 tonight)
  6.         Mariusz Czerkawski 12/23/1999 – 4/14/2002 215
(If Tavares does not miss a game, he would pass Richard Park for the 2nd longest streak in the Post Cup era on Election night in Washington)
