After Ilya Sorokin and Samuel Ersson battled through 65 scoreless minutes of hockey, Tyson Forester scored the only goal of a four-round shootout as the Philadelphia Flyers blanked the Isles 1-0  before a sellout crowd of 17,255 at UBS Arena.   

The shootout loss ended the Isles' three-game win streak, but the Islanders do extend their point streak to six straight games (3-0-3), which is their longest point streak under Lane Lambert.  

The Isles are 8-6-6 on the season; they begin a three-game road trip in New Jersey on Tuesday.

This was the 19th game in Islander history that was scoreless through 60 minutes.  Six of them ended in a scoreless tie, including three where overtime was not played. Isles are now 6-7 in games that are scoreless through 60 minutes and decided in either overtime or a shootout. Seven were decided by an overtime goal (4-3) while six have gone to a shootout (2-4).

The Isles begin a three-game road trip with their first trip to Newark in nearly a calendar year (12/9/2022). The Devils defeated the Isles at UBS on October 20th, as they used four power play goals enroute to a 5-4 overtime win.

The Isles are 8-2-0 in the last ten trips to New Jersey and are 14-5-1 in their last 20 meetings with the Devils. The Isles will play 50 games before they face the Devils again on March 24th at UBS Arena.
