@StapeNewsday On Vanek, no official update, but I'm told he's definitely out tomorrow. Not known if he'll need IR yet. #Isles

Season Series Stats
The Blue Jackets lead the season series two games to none (and four points to one) with two games to play.  The teams will next play on March 23rd at the Coliseum.
The Isles have won only once in nine all-time visits to Columbus (1-6-2).

Happy Anniversary
27 years ago tonight: November 9, 1986.  Tomas Jonsson scored twice as the Islanders rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat the Sabres 4-3 in Buffalo.  Steve Konroyd then scored the tying goal late in the second before Mike Bossy potted the winner in the third.
Overall the Islanders are now 6-7-0 on this date.

On The Farm
Ryan Strome scored his fourth goal of the season with 2:59 to play to earn the Sound Tigers a point but Bridgeport dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Hershey; the Bears won a 10-round shootout by a 6-5 score. Bridgeport is 3-5-1-1 on the season and return home to host Adirondack at 3:00 on Sunday.

Up Next
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10th —ISLANDERS AT MONTREAL 6:00PM
[MSG+2 (Islanders pre-game at 5:30pm), 88.7 WRHU-FM, 103.9 WRCN-FM]

The Isles try to salvage the final game of the road trip with an early evening start in Montreal.  It's the Islanders' first trip to the Bell Center since last February's 4-3 overtime win as Thomas Hickey became the first Isle since Radek Martinek to score his first career goal in overtime.
The Isles are 5-6-1 in their last 12 games in Montreal, starting with a loss on March 13, 2007 in a game in which Rick DiPietro was forced from the game after a collision with Steve Begin, however all five Isles wins in that stretch have come in extra time (three times in shootouts, twice in overtime), leaving Les Habitants 7-0-5 in those 12 games.
