Philipp Grubauer to face Isles

Who?  You might ask.  It's Capital rookie Philipp Grubauer, who will make his first NHL start this afternoon.

Grubauer, the 112th pick overall in 2010, has played 25 NHL minutes, faced 14 shots and stopped them all.

Grubauer started the season with Reading (ECHL), and then went 8-4-1 in 14 games with Hershey of the AHL (1.99 GAA, .930).

He is the first 2010 or later Capitals draft pick to play in the NHL.

Grubauer joins Peter Mrazek (two games this season for Detroit) as goalies drafted in 2010 to make it to the NHL.
