New York, NY (November 17, 2011) – MSG Networks announced today that the legendary New York Islanders broadcast team of John "Jiggs" McDonald and Ed Westfall will be reunited in the booth to call the second period of the Islanders-Bruins game on Saturday, November 19 starting at 7:00 p.m. on MSG Plus. The reunion will be part of "Ed Westfall Night" as the Islanders honor their original captain and induct him into the franchise's Hall of Fame.

"MSG Networks would like to congratulate Ed Westfall on this deserving honor," said Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks. "And on such a special night, we thought it would be fun for Islanders fans to have another chance to hear this historic New York broadcasting team behind the mic."

"Jiggs and Eddie" shared the booth for 15 years starting with the 1980-81 season, the second of the Islanders' four consecutive Stanley Cup-winning runs. Westfall retired from broadcasting in 1998, while McDonald continues to fill in for Islanders' current play-by-play man Howie Rose on occasion, including approximately 10 games this season.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to get back in the booth with Eddie," said McDonald. "And for this to take place on such a wonderful night – Eddie's night – it's an honor, and I'm very much looking forward to it."

"Jiggs is the best, so this is going to be a lot of fun," said Westfall. "I hope Islanders fans enjoy this as much as we will. The 'Jiggs and Eddie' dog and pony show continues!"

Starting at 7:00 p.m., MSG Plus will have live coverage of "Ed Westfall Night," including a video tribute to Westfall's career, the dedication of a plaque honoring Westfall and McDonald, the raising of Westfall's Islanders Hall of Fame banner, and the former captain's speech to the Nassau Coliseum crowd.

MSG Networks telecasts over 300 live NHL games each year as well as "HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE," the only comprehensive hockey show in the New York area, every Saturday night throughout the hockey season. "HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE" will immediately follow Saturday's Islanders-Bruins game on MSG Plus.
