Pick a Seat -- new Ticketmaster seating for Isles

There are still a number of seats left for the Isles home opener on Saturday -- have to think the combination of being the end of Yom Kippur, and facing a non-desirable opponent, Florida has something to do with it.

If you want to go, you can bring 7 buddies and sit 8 rows behind the Isles bench in Section 117, Row H, Seat 1-8.  I can tell you that definitively because Ticketmaster has a new seat selection chart where you can pick out your actual seats.

I think that this will have pluses and minuses for the team -- pluses because a fan who wants a particular section can now make sure that they get that Section, as opposed to what Ticketmaster might have thought is a more desirable view.  However, a minus from the point of view that fans can see (for certain games) that there are a lot of tickets available, reducing the need to buy them ahead of time.

As for this Saturday, you can pick your seats here:

One thing appears certain -- the change in ticket prices for this season will make the building look better on television.  Several sections downstairs are completely sold out and almost all are at least 90% full  (106, 113 and 210 being notable exceptions)

The Rangers will make their first Coliseum visit the following Saturday.  That game is well on its way to being a sellout -- there's not a single ticket priced at less than $60 available on Ticketmaster.

I like the pick-a-seat as the old method was mind-numbing... If you elected to not choose those seats and search again, the search often just yielded the same seats over and over.

If Isles win, you won't have to worry about fans seeing lots of empty seats to choose from...

Been doing this on SeatGeek for at least a year. As someone who never plans or can afford to buy too far ahead, I love it! Last pair I bought came from a ticket reseller out of Denver. Cheaper fees too.
